What you can play
Numbers
Game mode
- Standard — The closest to the correct answer gets 1 point.
- Answer
- The answer to the question is a number.
- Points
- Only one winner; on a tie every closest guess gets the point.
- Tip
- You don’t need the exact number — just be closer than the others.
- Sniper — Points for accuracy: exact is 1000, the further off, the less.
- Answer
- Everyone types their number.
- Points
- 10% off is 819 points, 50% off is 368, 100% off is 135.
- No zeroes
- Everyone scores, even the furthest guess.
- Totalizator — Points for accuracy, plus a bet on the round winner from round 3.
- Bank
- Everyone starts at zero — you can only stake what you earned.
- Bet
- From round 3 you can bet on the round winner for extra points.
- Payout
- The odds follow the standings, and you cannot stake more than 500.
- Pirate — Points for accuracy, then duels: the closer player takes the rival’s points.
- Duel
- Once a game you can challenge anyone one on one.
- Buy-off
- The challenged player can hand over a quarter of their points and skip it.
- Silence
- Ignore a challenge and the duel happens anyway.
- Greedy Belly — Multiply your points by opening boxes — but one hides a bomb.
- Points
- First you score for the accuracy of your answer.
- Boxes
- The multiplier grows: ×1.15, ×1.35, ×1.7 and on.
- Bomb
- Hit it and the whole round burns. Bank in time and the points are yours.
- Chaos — Points for accuracy, then everyone takes a turn opening one box out of four — and anything can be inside: ×2, a steal, a swap or a burn (about 12 effects).
- Points
- First you score for the accuracy of your answer.
- Order
- The worst answer opens first, the most accurate one last.
- Risk
- Effects only touch this round — your total never drops.

Auction
Players bid on lots — the room picks the best set
This game has no modes, just bidding: lot after lot, and the whole room picks the best set.
- Budget
- Everyone has the same money, and lots come up one at a time.
- Bidding
- Bids climb until the host brings the hammer down.
- Surprise
- Some lots stay hidden — you only see what you bought once it is sold.
- Lots come up one at a time.
- Players bid and build their own set.
- The room votes for the best set.
VS
A question and two options — which one?
This game has no modes — just the chain: question after question, and the room keeps picking one of two options.
- Chain
- Every question you get right in a row is worth 100 more. A miss burns only the chain: your points stay and nobody is knocked out.
- Board record
- The longest chain stays on the board — the next group sees it before the first question.
- Take a ready board or write your own: a question, two sides with numbers and, if you like, photos.
- The room picks one of the two cards — on a phone they sit side by side, just like on screen.
- Guess right and the chain grows, each link worth more. The longest one stays as the board record.
The host has to tell you the PIN of the room they created

How to play
The host sets up the game
Opens a room with a PIN code and picks the board type, the board itself and various modes.
Players join with the PIN
Players find the room by its PIN and land in the lobby.
Everyone answers from their own device
Depending on the game: they type a number or a word, pick one of four options, or bid on a lot — while the timer runs.
Points are scored
In Numbers, points are awarded for closeness, in Words and Options for correct answers, and in the Auction the room picks the winner. After each round (except in the Auction) we show the leaderboard.
Frequently asked questions
What is GuessGap?
GuessGap is a free set of quiz and party games for groups. It has five games: a numeric quiz, Words, Options, Auction and VS. You can also pick different modes for extra fun.
How do you play GuessGap?
The host creates a room and gets a 4-digit PIN, then picks a game and a board in the lobby. Players join with that PIN or a QR code right in the browser — no signup needed. Then everyone answers: with a number, a word, a chosen option or a bid on a lot.
Is GuessGap free?
Yes. GuessGap is in open testing, so everything that already works is free — no subscription, no card. Players don’t even need an account: they join with a PIN right in the browser, on a phone or a computer. If paid features ever arrive, we will say so well in advance.
What games are there in GuessGap?
Five — and together they make a whole evening. Numbers: a question whose answer is a number, and the closer to the truth, the more points. Words: everyone writes their own answer, and the host flips the cards and says ✓ or ✗. Options: a question and four options, A–D, with points counted automatically. Auction: players bid on lots, build a set, and the room votes for the best one. VS: a question and two options with numbers and photos — who scored more goals, which building is taller; the bigger number simply wins, and guessing in a row grows a chain that pays more, with the longest one staying as the board’s record. On top of that come modes for every mood — from classic points for accuracy to Totalizator bets, pirate duels and Chaos boxes where your points double or burn, plus modifiers such as win streaks and team play. Some modes are still being finished — they are marked “soon”. The format will feel familiar if you have played Kahoot or similar quizzes.
